Nurture People

If you are looking for a place of heart connection and support for your parenting journey then contact the lovely team at Nurture People. Based in Auckland, they run parenting classes guided by their training in the gentle and respectful approaches of Pikler®, RIE®, Steiner and Pennie Brownlee - Dance with me in the Heart. They are a charitable trust and also offer home visits, online meet ups, play-groups and support for centres and teachers/caregivers. Co-founder Tineke Sutton was the former owner here at Oma Rāpeti, and the other founder, Jana To, was one of our wonderful teachers for many years. Please visit their website: https://www.nurturepeople.org/

Magic Child

Magic Child is run by Sharon Smith who is a certified RIE®️ associate. Magic Child is designed for parents, and early childhood professionals — carers of very young children. Based on the groundbreaking work of Magda Gerber and Dr Emmi Pikler, Magic Child provides advice and guidance, strategies, and on-hand mentoring to those caring for infants and toddlers.

Many of our team have completed the RIE®️ Foundations training with Sharon and we can highly recommend it.

New Zealand Infant and Toddler Consortium

NZITC is run by a wonderful team of Educarers®️ whose purpose is to share the respectful philosophy of Magda Gerber's Educaring®️ approach with whānau and early childhood settings in Aotearoa. We are lucky enough to have our brilliant Centre Manager, Malenka, who is on the board of NZITC.

The Food Tree

We highly recommend our friends Lorren and Rachael at The Food Tree for all things related to children and their food intake! Lorren used to work with us as an amazing reliever and has a wonderful way of understanding your children and their needs. Rachael is registered dietitian and will help you grow happy, healthy children. You can view more on their website or Facebook page

Ako Space

If your child is school-aged and you live on, or near, the North Shore in Auckland, we recommend chatting to Sabrina at Ako. Just as Oma Rāpeti is a play-based centre, Ako is a play-based primary school. They often run excellent community talks and events, so make sure you like their Facebook page to stay in the loop.

Discover Childcare

We use and recommend Discover Childcare Software for other centres. You can find more details here:

Pennie Brownlee

Many of our team have attended Dance With Me in the Heart training, facilitated by the wonderful Pennie Brownlee. Visit her website for more information and useful resources.

Below are three books that guide our practice and approach - two of them written by Pennie Brownlee and the third written by Pennie Brownlee and Kimberley Crisp.

Further Recommended Books to Read
